Driving and parking

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

When driving and parking near our school, please:

Kiss and Ride

Designed for quick entry and exit, these zones minimise congestion and risk when used properly by all parents and carers.

These zones operate under the same conditions as no parking zones, which means you may stop to drop off or pick up children for a maximum of 2 minutes. You are required to remain in, or within 3 metres of, your vehicle.

Our school continues to witness and receive concerns about cars remaining in the Kiss and Ride zone for extended periods, cars stopping at the end of the Kiss and Ride zone rather than moving their car up to the top of the zone to allow cars behind to enter.

We appreciate you working with us to keep our children safe. ss and Ride in the morning

Kiss and Ride zone in the MORNING

  • Parents enter the Kiss and Ride zone and move up as far as practicable to the top of the zone
  • Parents preferably remain in their car, or exit their cars briefly to support children with getting back packs and equipment out of the car, with children exiting via the safety door – which are car doors on the kerbside
  • Children walk straight to the gate to meet a school staff member
  • Cars exit the Kiss and Ride zone at the top of the zone, allowing cars behind to enter and/or move forward

Kiss and Ride zone in the AFTERNOON

  • Students wait with a staff member in the Kiss and Ride zone
  • Parents drive into the Kiss and Ride zone and move up as far as practicable to the top of the zone
  • Parents preferably remain in their car, or exit their cars briefly to support children with getting back packs and equipment into the car, with children entering via the safety door – which are car doors on the kerbside
  • Cars exit the Kiss and Ride zone at the top of the zone, allowing cars behind to enter and/or move forward
